The Dam Constriction Project
Most people do not speak about the darker side of the dam construction project, speaking only of how it brought the town together to keep the town thriving.
The story is that the Government wanted to build a damn in the Hinamizawa area, which would not only evicted the town but also submerged the land. The town fought hard to prevent the town from being sumberged- on group of the town were working on the more legal methods, such as petetioning and writing to the leaders of the government, but the Sonozaki clan- due to their power in the area and connection to the Yakuza were considered more of the 'heroes in the dark' using more underhanded methods to keep the dam from being built.
Miion and Rena were hiding information about the Dam site to try and keep Keiichi in the dark in order to keep his views of Hinamizawa from being tainted (Demoned Away Chapter)
